Our Program

At West Denver Suzuki Strings, we promote community among our students, parents and teachers through private lessons, group classes and concerts! Offering not only opportunities to grow musically, but also lifelong friendships, life skills and love of music!

“Music exists for the purpose of growing an admirable heart.”

— Shinichi Suzuki

Our founders, Annie Barnette, Laura Barnette and Lannie Shelton realized that although there were Suzuki teachers in the West Denver area, there was a need for group classes and a more cohesive program. By inviting teachers in the area to collaborate, we are able to offer classes tailored to students’ needs. We offer a wide variety of group classes for students from ages 3-18. Beginning, through advanced.

West Denver Suzuki Strings provides a high-quality program of Suzuki education that serves students on the west side of Denver and the surrounding metro area through:

A program of regular private lessons, group instruction, and performances

  • An aural approach to early repertoire which complements the development of musical literacy

  • A collaboration between teachers and parents/guardians to support the students’ progress on their chosen instrument

  • A supportive community of teachers and peers that encourage and inspire students’ continued success

We are a Suzuki program that nurtures the whole person through the development of musical talent. We work towards a world where every person can grow to confidently share their gifts and passions.

With eleven group classes, seven teachers and over seventy students, we offer so many ways for students to grow!
